Guess 1981 is a woody, smoky fragrance that was introduced in 2017. Bergamot and violet leaf notes provide the combination a fresh, breezy start. The woody aspect of the blend comes from the middle notes of cedar, oakmoss, and ambergris, which contrast with the refreshing top notes. Finally, olibanum and leather notes at the cologne’s base compliment the top notes while also adding to the fragrance’s smokey quality. This cologne’s longevity makes it ideal for wearing at night. Guess was formed by five brothers who were interested in fashion trends in the late 1970s. The American fashion house began by selling designer jeans, which were inspired by the styles seen in California at the time. In the late 1980s, the firm launched its first fragrance after finding success with its fashion line. Guess has approximately 30 different blends today.
