The Christian Dior Sauvage Cologne is a scent inspired by enormous landscapes and wide-open expanses in the wild: imagine an unending blue sky strewn across a scorching desert. It’s a composition that leaves a forceful and noble trail in its wake, even naming itself after the French word for “wild.” The smell opens with top notes of pepper and Calabrian bergamot, followed by patchouli, geranium, vetiver, lavender, pink pepper, Sichuan pepper, and elemi in the heart notes. Cedar, labdanum, and ambroxan make up the base, which is warm and woody. Francois Demachy created this masterpiece as a homage to nature, employing rare and rich components that were particularly developed for this smell.
