L’Ombre Des Merveilles, a fragrance by Herm?s created by the amazing Christine Nagel, was introduced in 2010 and is a gender-neutral amber-woody scent. With regard to L’Ombre Des Merveilles, Nagel has succeeded, as she has done a number of times over the years, in making magic out of very little. Tonka bean serves as the base note, incense serves as the middle note, and black tea serves as the top note. The scent is understated, yet gorgeous and lovely, proving that simple, understated fragrances can be effective. The notes flow into one another, giving each one a chance to stand out. Each one dances with the next before handing over the reins, and they are all more complex together than they should be alone, yet the fragrance is still primarily uncomplicated and straightforward. This can be used in just about any circumstance and is completely unisex.
